Features
Water activation
The bobbin contains a compressed salt pellet. When submerged in water, the salt dissolves.
Firing mechanism
Dissolving the salt releases a spring-loaded firing pin that punctures the COâ‚‚ cylinder.
Inflation
The released gas rapidly fills the lifejacket chambers.
Manual Backup
Inflaters also feature a manual pull-cord toggle as a backup.
